This movie is about a man named Jean Valjean. He went to prison for robbing a piece of bread to feed his family. When he was free he broke his parole. He robbed a priest and was caught, but when the guards brought him to the priest he said he had given to him the stolen things. After that Valjean changed his name and became a man of respect between the people. Years later Javert, a police official who used to guard Valjean found him and started chasing him again. Valjean owned a textile factory and one day Fantine a woman who worked was fired by the supervisor. She ended up working as a prostitute and Valjean found her very sick. She told him she had a daughter and he promised to take care of her. She died after that. Javert founds Valjean and he escapes. He finds Cosette, Fantine’s daughter, and takes care of her for many years. Many things happen next but I’m not going to spoil it for you.
The movie is a musical and is based on a book with the same name by French writer Victor Hugo. As I have mentioned before I love musicals so this was a movie I enjoyed very much. I recommend this to everyone knowing that many won’t like it, but it is worth watching.
